Meentycat wind farm sponsored walk 2008
Airtricity will hold a 15km sponsored walk around and through the Meentycat and Culliagh wind farms on Saturday 20 September. Registration will commence between 10am and noon with no walkers permissable to start after noon.
The walk will trail through the wind farms and will give you a chance to view some of Donegal’s most beautiful natural scenery and the wind turbines working up close.
This sponsored walk is part of a community funding initiative by Airtricity for its Meentycat and Culliagh wind farms, whereby community groups located within a 12km radius are offered the chance to raise funds for their local organisations and obtain a substantial donation from Airtricity. Funds will be divided amongst all qualifying groups at Airtricity’s discretion.
Over 100 walkers are expected to participate in the walk and hope for favourable conditions. Refreshments were distributed en route and also for the weary walkers on completion of their 15km lap.

Golf Classic - Rosapenna

New Ultrasound System
AMS is providing and putting in place a portable Ultrasound Diagnostic Medical System, which will afford a multitude of superb advantages in diagnosis, prognosis, and procedures for the patient who is too unwell to be moved from the Donegal Hospice or from their homes for further investigation. Dr. Donal Martin Consultant in Palliative Medicine Health Service Executive - Donegal Region is delighted as it will be of great assistance to his work in caring for patients. The cost of this System was €89,000 +.
